Modern (Contemporary)
Isadora Duncan has to be given credit for creating this dance form. She decided to step away from all the stringent rules of Classical Ballet incorporating turnout , and classical lines and made her own rules for shape and movement,
Modern & contemporary incorporate more “natural human movement” in parallel rather than turnout as in classical ballet, Emotional movement is deeply entrenched in choreography using beautiful twists and lines different than classical ballet.
Contemporary is usually performed to “present-day contemporary music” rather than the Classical Greats such as Bach, Beethoven, Mozart, etc.
This dance form combines, beauty, power, and interesting sequences in the air and on the floor.
